Cherry & Pineapple
Baked Ham
- Precooked bone-in ham shoulder or butt; 6-15+lbs.
- Large jar of maraschino cherries in cherry juice
- 2 cans of sliced pineapple rings
- 1 cup of brown sugar melted in 1 cup hot water
- Package of whole cloves
- Container of toothpicks
Set oven at 350°.
Place ham cut side down in a large roasting pan. Insert Cloves randomly all over the ham
In a bowl mix the pineapple and cherry juice from the containers. Add in the brown sugar and 1 cup of hot water. Mix. Set aside.
Use toothpicks to hold the pineapple ring with cherry in the middle to the ham. Cover the entire ham with these rings. Place any remaining cherries and pineapple to the bottom of the pan.
Pour liquid all over the ham. Repeat basting every ½ hour. Bake at 350° for 2 ½ to 3 hours.
When you stick a fork into the ham. The meat will tenderly fall off onto the fork. Pineapples and cherries will be browned. Remove the toothpicks, place them in a separate dish. Remove the ham from the pan and slice it. Note: the ham may fall off in chunks. Place in a serving tray and serve.
Place the content of the liquid in a gravy bowl. Pour over the ham. Enjoy!
