Apple Brownies

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 large apples, pared and chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. each soda and salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon


Cream together margarine, sugar and egg; add apples and nuts. Sift together all dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Pour into a 9x9-inch pan; sprinkle with additional cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Yield: 24 servings.
